The United Arab Emirates is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the founding of the State of the Union on Thursday, after years of achievements and successes in many fields of economy, education and technology, achieved through the efforts of the loyal people of the country.
To mark the occasion, the Emirates Detainees Advocacy Centre (EDAC) counted the 50 achievements of UAE detainees who have contributed to nation building since the country's establishment.
The achievements highlight the important role that detainees have played in the renaissance of the UAE, particularly in the development of education.
In the field of education, they contributed to the establishment of a number of universities, including Abu Dhabi and Al Ittihad Universities. Some of them held important administrative positions in some of the country's universities and colleges until his arrest.
The detainees also played an important role in establishing schools, as they founded a number of schools in the UAE, such as the "Model Schools", the "Iqra" and the "Ittihad" schools. In addition, they played a well-known role in curriculum development, as they were the first to issue national curricula that introduced an article on "military education" in the country.
The prisoners played no less important role in charity work as they were involved in or contributed to the establishment of numerous associations such as the establishment of the "Islamic Relief Committee", the "Charity Works Authority" and other centers, committees and boards.
The detainees have also excelled in the media field, having contributed to the establishment of a number of Arabic channels such as "Al-Majd" and "Al-Bidaya". Within the UAE, they have launched the "Hayatna" channel, and the government has given them the task of managing moral affairs in the Ministry of Defense.
Economically, the prisoners have achieved much through their contribution to the establishment of the "Dubai Islamic Bank", while socially and culturally, they have many achievements to their credit, such as the establishment of libraries, clubs for memorizing the noble Qur'an, and the publication of religious and literary magazines.
It is noteworthy that the detainees have contributed to the establishment or development of numerous state institutions and have made an important contribution to the establishment of the "Executive Council of the Government of the Emirate of Ajman".
